Constructed to compete in Saint Louis University's Pumpkin Launch Competition, this trebuchet was designed to maximize distance launched and adjust for varying sizes and weights of payload. With no prior seige-weapon design experience, I performed independent research to achieve the design goals. It took a few trips to the local hardware store and some late work nights with a friend, but sure enough, the trebuchet came to life, launching test missiles like a pro. On competition day, the Jack-O’-Launcher 5000 brought home the second place prize for launch distance.
